Lucky Dolphin Slots

One of our favorite underwater slots is a mermaid-themed game where the bonus round is triggered after collecting a certain number of Pearl symbols. We recently reviewed Lucky Dolphins slots and were curious to see how this game would stand up against our favorite slot. Before we get into the review, here are the basic game details.

  • Slot Game Developer: Platipus Gaming
  • Game Type: 5-reel bonus slot
  • Theme: Fish, Underwater
  • Paylines: 15
  • Betting Options – 2 cents to $2 coin values for a max bet of $30
  • Game RTP: 94.9%

Here’s the Paytable and Payouts

Symbols in Lucky Dolphin slots offer a prize when you get three, four, or five matching symbols on one of the 15 paylines.

10 or Jack – 5, 10, or 25 coins

Queen, King, or Ace – 10, 25, or 50 coins

Blowfish – 25, 50, or 100 coins

Seahorse – 35, 75, or 150 coins

Clownfish – 50, 100, or 200 coins

Turtle – 75, 125, or 250 coins

Lucky Dolphin is a wild that helps form winning combinations by replicating other symbols. If you happen to get five Dolphin wilds on the reels, win 300x.

What You Stand to Gain in the Bonus Round

Pearls are the game’s scatter symbol, and you win a chance at a pick ‘em game with at least three of them. You also earn a payout of 2x, 15x, or 50x with three, four, or five respective Pearl scatters.

In the bonus game, five items appear. Pick one and win a multiplier of up to 220x. This bonus round has five levels, so keep picking until the bonus round ends when you find “Game Over” or make it through the fifth level. If you happen to get “Collect All,” you win all of the prizes on that level before moving to the next level.

Our Experience Playing Lucky Dolphin

We believe all slot game reviews need to cover the normal experience of playing the game. We selected a 10-cent coin value for a per-spin bet of $1.50 and got started. The reality is this game was a dud. After 10 spins, we hadn’t won a thing. We finally won $3.50 on our 15th spin, which isn’t that impressive.

Out of curiosity, we tried playing Lucky Dolphin with the max bet to see if that improved our experience at all. With the wager set to $30 per spin, we did win $100 on our third spin. That was our only win though, so we didn’t have any better luck at all. We also never won the bonus round in these 20 spins. It took 87 spins before that happened, and we hit “Game Over” on the third level. While Lucky Dolphin has great payouts and an interactive bonus round, it didn’t prove as rewarding as other underwater slots.
